This is a role for an HR leader who takes full ownership and thrives in a build environment.
Position Summary
The General Manager, HR & Administration will be responsible for the complete people and administration function at Avid Organics. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role owns HR end to end across a combined workforce of 150 to 200 plant and office employees. The incumbent must be equally comfortable driving culture and accountability at the leadership level and managing the operational realities of a manufacturing HR function.
Key Responsibilities
Culture and Performance Management
  • Own and drive the company-wide Performance Management System including goal-setting, reviews, and appraisals
  • Build a culture of accountability and discipline across all levels of the organisation
  • Design and implement employee engagement, recognition, and retention programs
  • Partner with senior leadership to align people priorities with business objectives
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Own end-to-end hiring for all roles across plant and office functions
  • Build talent pipelines for critical and recurring positions
  • Standardise onboarding processes to improve early retention and productivity
HR Systems and Compliance
  • Implement and manage core HR processes and policies across the organisation
  • Ensure full statutory compliance with applicable labour laws and regulations
  • Maintain HR documentation, records, and a compliance calendar
Learning and Development
  • Identify capability gaps and build a practical training calendar tied to business needs
  • Coordinate safety, functional, and compliance training across all employee categories
Administration
  • Oversee plant and office administration including facilities, vendor management, security, and transport
  • Manage admin budgets and vendor contracts with a focus on cost efficiency
Qualifications and Experience
  • MBA HR / MSW / PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification
  • 18-22 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role
  • Manufacturing industry background strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building HR systems and processes from the ground up
  • Comfortable managing both plant and office workforce
  • Prior experience in an MSME or growth-stage business actively building structure will be viewed favourably
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of labour law and statutory compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to drive performance culture and build accountability frameworks
  • Strong recruitment and talent acquisition capability across levels and functions
  • High emotional intelligence with communication fluency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English
  • Ability to operate with high ownership in a fast-paced, evolving environment
