Job Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Information
  • Own the preparation and timely release of the monthly Management Information System report to the leadership team on a defined reporting calendar.
  • Present financial performance against budget, with variance analysis that identifies cause, quantum and the accountable function.
  • Deliver reporting on product-wise and customer-wise profitability, working capital, cash position, receivable and payable ageing, inventory and capital expenditure.
  • Review and validate the weekly cash flow statement prepared by the Senior Manager, Finance & Accounts prior to its submission to management.
  • Provide financial analysis to support pricing, product mix, customer, vendor and capital investment decisions.
Accounting Operations & Financial Control
  • Own the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the books of account across all Group entities.
  • Establish and hold a defined monthly closing calendar.
  • Ensure all control accounts, including bank, debtors, creditors, inventory, inter-company and tax ledgers, are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Establish accounting policies and ensure their consistent application in line with applicable accounting standards and the Companies Act.
  • Ensure the physical verification programme for inventory and fixed assets is executed and that variances are investigated and resolved.
ERP Implementation, Finance & Accounts
  • Serve as the functional owner for the Finance & Accounts scope of the Company's Odoo implementation.
  • Define, prioritise and sign off finance requirements for the in-house development team, and validate delivered functionality before it goes live.
  • Establish Odoo as the single source of financial data, with parallel record keeping outside the system progressively retired.
  • Ensure financial controls, including approval workflows, delegation of authority limits, period locking and user access rights, are configured and enforced within the system.
  • Build the capability of the Finance & Accounts team to operate the system independently and accurately.
Costing & Profitability Analysis
  • Establish and maintain a standard costing framework covering raw material, utilities, conversion cost and overhead across the product portfolio.
  • Deliver monthly cost and contribution analysis at product level, with variance analysed by price, yield, usage and volume.
  • Partner with Production, Quality and Purchase on the financial impact of yield, downtime, rework and input cost movement.
  • Ensure costing is derived from ERP and plant data, providing a single validated cost base for commercial decision making.
  • Support the statutory Cost Audit and ensure cost records are maintained as required.
Budgeting & Budgetary Control
  • Lead the annual operating and capital expenditure budgeting exercise in consultation with department heads and management.
  • Establish department-wise and cost-centre-wise budgets with clear ownership resting at the department head level.
  • Publish monthly budget versus actual performance to each department and drive corrective action on adverse variance.
  • Institute budgetary control at the point of commitment, so that spending is validated before it is incurred.
  • Track and report the financial benefit of cost reduction and improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Treasury, Banking & Working Capital Management
  • Manage the Group's cash position, fund utilisation and working capital requirement.
  • Lead banking relationships and negotiate working capital limits, term facilities and trade finance on competitive terms.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of stock statements, QIS, CMA data and other lender requirements.
  • Drive improvement in the cash conversion cycle through receivable, payable and inventory management, in coordination with Sales, Purchase and Stores.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure and hedging in respect of export receivables and import payables.
  • Manage the credit rating process and strengthen the Group's standing with lenders and rating agencies.
International Accounting & Group Consolidation
  • Own the accounting, closing and reporting for the Group's United States and European entities, aligning them to the same reporting calendar as the Indian operations.
  • Coordinate with overseas advisors and accounting firms on statutory filings, indirect tax and corporate tax obligations.
  • Ensure inter-company transactions are correctly recorded, reconciled and supported by transfer pricing documentation.
  • Deliver consolidated Group financial reporting to management.
  • Report entity-level profitability, receivables and cash position for the international business.
Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Audit
  • Own the compliance calendar across GST, TDS, TCS, income tax, PF, ESIC and ROC obligations, with full adherence to statutory timelines.
  • Manage assessments, notices, scrutiny proceedings and appeals before the Income Tax and GST authorities.
  • Manage statutory, internal, tax, cost and transfer pricing audits, ensuring timely closure and resolution of audit observations.
  • Provide management with periodic visibility of compliance status and any open exposure.
Internal Controls & Process Governance
  • Establish documented standard operating procedures for all core finance processes, including purchase to pay, order to cash, inventory accounting, fixed assets and month end closing.
  • Define and enforce a Delegation of Authority matrix covering approval limits for purchase, payment, expense and write off.
  • Institute segregation of duties and maker-checker controls across financial transactions.
  • Establish and administer the customer credit policy, including credit limits, credit terms and escalation for overdue accounts.
  • Identify control gaps and strengthen the control environment on a proactive basis.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Lead, structure and develop the Finance & Accounts team, including the Senior Manager, Finance & Accounts.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities and deliverables for each team member, supported by documented processes.
  • Build depth and cross-cover within the team so that critical activities are not dependent on any single individual.
  • Coach and develop the team, upgrading capability in ERP usage, analysis and reporting.
  • Set individual KPIs under the Company's Performance Management System and conduct monthly performance reviews.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as a business partner to Production, Purchase, Stores, Sales, Quality and Human Resources, providing financial insight that supports operating decisions.
  • Represent Finance & Accounts in management reviews and contribute to business planning and strategy discussions.
  • Participate in the Company's operational excellence programmes, including 5S, Daily Work Management and Kaizen, within the department.
  • Serve as the central point of financial information and analysis for the organisation.
Scope & Authority
  • Reports directly to the Managing Director, with a seat in the senior management forum.
  • Full line authority over the Finance & Accounts function across all Group entities in India, the United States and Europe.
  • Autonomy in determining how the function is structured, staffed and operated, within approved manpower and cost budgets.
  • Authority to define accounting policy, internal controls and approval structures, with the approval of the Managing Director.
  • Authority to withhold any payment or commitment falling outside approved budget, policy or authority limits.
  • Authority to determine finance requirements and development priorities for the ERP.
  • Capital expenditure, borrowing, write offs and changes to credit policy require the approval of the Managing Director.
Competencies
Technical Competencies
  • ERP implementation or migration experience within the finance function, on Odoo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics Navision or an equivalent platform, including direct engagement with development teams.
  • Strong command of Indian direct and indirect taxation, the Companies Act and audit requirements.
  • Standard costing and product profitability analysis in a process manufacturing environment.
  • Treasury, banking and working capital management under multiple banking arrangements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
